More about Stephen Bunting

Stephen Bunting has been competing on the world darts stage for more than 20 years now, having qualified for his first World Championship at the Lakeside back in 2004. Then as an 18-year-old, ‘The Bullet’ would go on to make six more appearances in the BDO World Championship, with his Lakeside bow in 2014 ending with him lifting the trophy. Bunting won back-to-back BDO World Masters titles in 2012 and 2013, along with the Zuiderduin Masters in 2012, with the Lakeside crown his biggest success as he defeated Alan Norris 7-4 in the final to become a world champion in the senior ranks for the first time.

Shortly after winning the BDO World Championship, Stephen Bunting made the switch over to the PDC, accepting a tour card to play on the professional darts circuit. ‘The Bullet’ made an immediate impact in the PDC ranks, winning a UK Open Qualifier and reaching the final of the Sydney Darts Masters in his first season. A quarter-final run on his PDC World Darts Championship debut in late 2014 helped earn Bunting a call-up to the prestigious Premier League the following year, where he showcased his skills in front of big crowds in Europe.

In 2021, Stephen Bunting reached the semi-finals of the PDC World Darts Championship for the first time. ‘The Bullet’ has enjoyed a renaissance on the oche in recent years, with a semi-final run at the 2023 Grand Slam of Darts closely followed by his greatest triumph in the PDC to date, winning the Masters in early 2024. In his first PDC major final, Bunting defeated Michael van Gerwen 11-7 to join the PDC major winners roll of honour. After making the semi-finals at Alexandra Palace again in 2025, Bunting earned a call up to the Premier League again, to reaffirm his position as one of the world’s best players.
