RYAN JOYCE

Ryan Joyce rose to fame in the world of darts with a run to the quarter-finals of the PDC World Championship in 2019. ‘Relentless’ had a debut to remember at Alexandra Palace, beating Anastasia Dobromyslova, Simon Whitlock, Alan Norris and James Wade to reach the last eight of the tournament.

The Newcastle thrower made his BDO World Championship debut at the Lakeside two years earlier, in 2017, before joining the professional ranks in the PDC at the start of 2018. Joyce claimed his first PDC title by winning a Players Championship in the summer of 2020, a run which also helped him secure debuts in the World Matchplay and World Grand Prix.

‘Relentless’ appeared in another major quarter-final at the back end of 2022, making the final day of the World Series of Darts Finals, before doubling his PDC title tally with another Players Championship victory in October 2023. A month later Joyce broke new ground by reaching the semi-finals of the Players Championship Finals.

Ryan Joyce Darts by Mission

The Mission Ryan Joyce Steel Tip Darts are made of a high-quality 95% tungsten material. Joyce’s signature dart features a torpedo barrel design and tapered nose, with radial grooves, and finished with a coral PVD coating that gives a spectrum of colours. These darts are complete with a set of Mission Griplock short black shafts and Joyce’s own signature flights.

Our Ryan Joyce darts range also includes his signature flights in a pear shape, which is what ‘Relentless’ uses in his matches on the PDC circuit. The full collection on this page includes Joyce’s signature darts in both steel tip and soft tip, along with a surround and darts case, so you can show your support for ‘Relentless’ with your darts setup at home or on the go!

Ryan Joyce FAQ’s

Is Ryan Joyce still playing darts?

Ryan Joyce has enjoyed a return to form on the PDC tour in 2023, winning his second career Players Championship title and finishing runner-up in two other finals on the ProTour. ‘Relentless’ reached the finals of Players Championship 16 and Players Championship 24, before going one better and beating Gerwyn Price 8-7 to win the Event 26 final in October 2023.

Joyce followed up his success in the floor tournaments with his best-ever run in a major event in the Players Championship Finals. Victories against Daniel Klose, Joe Cullen, Jermaine Wattimena and Damon Heta saw him reach his first major semi-final in the PDC and on the verge of a return to the top 32 in the world rankings.

What darts does Ryan Joyce use now?

The darts Ryan Joyce currently uses are his signature Mission Ryan Joyce Darts in 21g. These darts have been designed specifically for him and feature 95% tungsten barrels with Mission Griplock shafts and his own Ryan Joyce signature flights.

These ‘Relentless’ darts are also inspired by retro-gaming and have been manufactured using the latest design and production methods, meaning it will soon be ‘game over’ for your competitors! The darts are complete with the Mission logo laser etched into the rear of the barrels.

How old is Ryan Joyce?

Born on September 20, 1985, Ryan Joyce celebrated his 38th birthday in 2023 – a year which saw him win his second Players Championship title and reach his first PDC major semi-final. Joyce was working in his local pub in the Newcastle area when he was asked to play for the pub’s darts team when they were short of players.

He rose through the ranks and represented Tyne & Wear at a county level, before going on to play on the BDO circuit and qualifying for their World Championship in 2017. Joyce pushed the three-time Lakeside champion Martin Adams to a sudden-death leg in the last 32, just losing out despite an incredible 164 finish in the penultimate leg of the match.

Joyce made the switch to the PDC in 2018, winning a tour card at Q-School, and has been one of the 128 PDC tour card holders ever since, picking up two ProTour titles and in 2020 he played in all seven major ranking events that year.

Ryan Joyce Career Highlights

In July 2020, Ryan Joyce won a PDC title for the first time beating Dave Chisnall 8-7 in the final of Players Championship 10 in Milton Keynes. The event was part of a five-day block of tournaments labelled as the ‘Summer Series’ – and were the first in-person competitions held by the PDC during the Covid-19 pandemic. The victory helped ‘Relentless’ to qualify for the World Matchplay and World Grand Prix that year.

Just three months later, Ryan Joyce made his mark on his World Grand Prix debut, averaging an impressive 96.61 in the double-start format in a 2-0 win against the second seed Peter Wright in the first round. The Geordie was 6/8 on the finishing doubles as he produced an upset victory against ‘Snakebite’ at the Ricoh Arena, in Coventry.

In October 2023, Ryan Joyce picked up his second ProTour title, edging past Gerwyn Price 8-7 in the final of Players Championship 26. It was a first tournament win in three years for ‘Relentless’, who will be eyeing up a return to the world’s top 32 in the PDC rankings as his results continue to improve both on the floor and on the stage. A month after his latest title success, Joyce made the last four of the Players Championship Finals in Minehead.
